We have the wonderful opportunity of serving at the open house for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. You will not want to miss out on this once in a life time experience. So you can plan for your opportunities to serve, the dates below are the dates our stake will be serving as volunteers:

The hours of the open house are from 7:00 am -11:00 p.m. Most shifts will run for 5 hours including 1 hour of training for the area in which you will be serving. The shifts are:

10:00 pm-11:00 pm

March Bishopric Message
Temples, The House of the Lord
It is amazing to see the building of two new temples here in the Salt Lake Valley. Many have taken the opportunity to attend the Draper Temple open house. On Mar.22nd the Draper Temple will be dedicated, and all who are eight years old and older and are worthy, have the opportunity to attend the dedication via satellite at our Stake Center.
The Oguirhh Mountain Temple open house will begin June 1st and go through July 31st. What a great opportunity for us to attend and serve during the open house for our new temple. The work of the Lord is rolling forth and we are witnessing that first hand.
“The Lord has always commanded his people to build temples, holy buildings in which worthy Saints perform sacred ceremonies and ordinances of the gospel for themselves and for the dead. The Lord visits his temples, and they are the most holy of all places of worship.”
It is our hope that we can all partake of the blessings of the temple. These events that surround us at this time don’t come along too often in ones lifetime. May we take our families to these great events that will build our testimonies of this great work.

Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet 2009
I want to publicly thank Kristin & Jeremy for pulling off the Blue &
Gold Banquet last night.
Kristin Simmons orchestrated the event and it was fantastic! There
was plenty of food - pulled pork sandwiches, baked potatoes, baked
beans, homemade root beer, and cobbler for everyone. The decorations
were all western style and really emphasized the western theme Matt
Peterson selected.
Jeremy English created the wanted posters for each of the boys and
took family photographs of all those who participated. As the
assistant cub master, Jeremy really picked up where Matt left off and
conducted a great evening for all.
Eraka Midgley & Amanda Wells served as our kitchen crew to make sure
all the food was out and the clean up was done. Keeping up in the
kitchen made for quick clean up; we could not have done it without them.
Each family was given an assignment to bring an item such as potatoes,
beans, bread, or condiments and utensils. The success of this event
relies heavily on the families who participate. We are so grateful
for each of you who supported the primary and scout leadership.
Scout leaders - this event is in honor of you! The success and
attendance last night represents the many thanks and appreciation we
as a ward family wish to express. Keep up the great work!

This is for all Cub Scouts and their Families! This includes you boys that will be coming into Cub Scouts this year! Make sure to wear your Western duds and bring your appetite…We’ll be serving up some Cowboy Grub in the Cultural Hall. Yee-haw!
Winter Camp

Check-in begins at 8:30am. Meet at the church at 8:00am to car pool. Medical form and Tubing Guidelines are on the Relief Society Yahoo page under "Files".

Fathers must attend. Meet at Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway (see leaders for directions) 2:30pm. Leaders will provide a packing list. $5.00 on tithing slip “other”. Please do not give tithing to Mia Chase.

Webelos Wilderness Summer Camp July 13-14 Cub Exploration Summer Camp July 10-11. All the boys that signed up are registered but if dues have not been paid please do so this week.

Single sisters and brethren: please invite a friend or simply come to the activity to help with decorations, refreshments or social interaction. There are always lots of ways to help out at a Ward activity.

Trek Opening Kick Off at the Stake Center. Come and get excited to participate in the upcoming Trek that will be held near Evanston Wyoming from July 22nd to July 25th. Those who should attend the kick off are: all youth who will be 14-18 as of July 25th 2009, at least one parent for each youth, Young Men and Young Women leaders for 14-18 year olds, Bishopric members, ma’s and pa’s, and stake trek committee members.
CERT Training
Sat. 21, 28 February | 8:00am – 5:00pm
CERT Training for all CERT and Emergency Communication Specialists. The next scheduled CERT Training is February 21 and 28 from 8:00am to 5:00pm with the half day disaster simulation on March 7 from 8:00am to 1:00pm. The Herriman training location has not been determined, the fee is 30.00. Herriman City will reimburse this fee upon successful completion of the course. The course will be taught by the Unified Fire Authority, click here.
