Religious Knot

We as a Primary Presidency would really like to encourage ALL Cub Scouts to try and earn their Religious Knot by this December's Pack Meeting. There are only 7 items you need to pass off in your Faith in God book to earn this. All of these items (but one) can be passed off at home. The items in BOLD are the corresponding Cub Scout requirements that can be passed off when the 7 Faith in God items are completed.

Learning and Living the Gospel
- Give a family home evening lesson on Joseph Smith's First Vision
(see Joseph Smith—History 1:1–20). Discuss how Heavenly Father
answers our sincere prayers.

- Give an opening and a closing prayer in family home evening or
at Primary. Share your feelings about how prayer protects us and
helps us to stay close to Heavenly Father and the Savior.

- Tell a story from the Book of Mormon that teaches about faith in
Jesus Christ. Share your testimony of the Savior.

-Prepare a pedigree chart with your name and your parents' and
grandparents' names. Prepare a family group record for your

Serving Others
- Write a letter to a teacher, your parents, or your grandparents
telling them what you appreciate and respect about them.

- Help your Primary leaders plan and carry out an upcoming

Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet 2009

I want to publicly thank Kristin & Jeremy for pulling off the Blue &
Gold Banquet last night.

Kristin Simmons orchestrated the event and it was fantastic! There
was plenty of food - pulled pork sandwiches, baked potatoes, baked
beans, homemade root beer, and cobbler for everyone. The decorations
were all western style and really emphasized the western theme Matt
Peterson selected.















Jeremy English created the wanted posters for each of the boys and
took family photographs of all those who participated. As the
assistant cub master, Jeremy really picked up where Matt left off and
conducted a great evening for all.

Eraka Midgley & Amanda Wells served as our kitchen crew to make sure
all the food was out and the clean up was done. Keeping up in the
kitchen made for quick clean up; we could not have done it without them.

Each family was given an assignment to bring an item such as potatoes,
beans, bread, or condiments and utensils. The success of this event
relies heavily on the families who participate. We are so grateful
for each of you who supported the primary and scout leadership.

Scout leaders - this event is in honor of you! The success and
attendance last night represents the many thanks and appreciation we
as a ward family wish to express. Keep up the great work!

Keeping up with the Cubs

In case you missed the Sunday program, here is a list of the up and coming Cub Scout activities and camps.

Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet
Tues. 17 Feb. 09 | 7:00pm–8:30pm
This is for all Cub Scouts and their Families! This includes you boys that will be coming into Cub Scouts this year! Make sure to wear your Western duds and bring your appetite…We’ll be serving up some Cowboy Grub in the Cultural Hall. Yee-haw!

Winter Camp
Monday 16 February | 9:00am–2:00pm
Check-in begins at 8:30am. Meet at the church at 8:00am to car pool. Medical form and Tubing Guidelines are on the Relief Society Yahoo page under "Files".

Klondike Derby (11 yr. old Scouts)
Fri. 20 – Sat. 21 February
Fathers must attend. Meet at Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway (see leaders for directions) 2:30pm. Leaders will provide a packing list. $5.00 on tithing slip “other”. Please do not give tithing to Mia Chase.

Summer Camps
Webelos Wilderness Summer Camp July 13-14 Cub Exploration Summer Camp July 10-11. All the boys that signed up are registered but if dues have not been paid please do so this week.
